In early November 2023, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) issued compliance program guidance for the third time (the first two being in 1998 and 2005). Compliance programs and healthcare have changed and evolved significantly since that time, and OIG’s guidance takes that evolution into account in this new guidance.
